Elephant Watering Points, Amboseli National Park, Kenya

Building two separate watering points providing dedicated water supply to wildlife to eliminate the conflict between humans and elephants and thus the incentive for retaliatory killings.

Veterinary Care, Thailand

Providing urgent and routine veterinary care to 15 rescued and retired elephants living at Boon Lott Elephant sanctuary in rural Thailand.

Marine Anti Poaching Units, Zambia

Supporting the construction of the Kafue Conservation Project’s new Marine Anti-Poaching Unit (MAPU) and a newly established Special Anti-Poaching Unit (SAPU) along with equipment, rations and supplies to rangers in response to a recent upsurge in elephant poaching incidents.

Supporting anti-poaching efforts to help protect wildlife in the newly established Garingani Game Reserve in Mozambique and providing key support to keep the area well-protected from the scourge of poaching.

SOUTH LUANGWA CONSERVATION SOCIETY

Canine Anti-Poaching Unit, Zambia

Caring for trained canines at South Luangwa Canine unit to provide critical anti-poaching work in the region. These dogs will allow SLCS to expand their anti-poaching work to search airports, planes, cities, border posts and people who may be trafficking contraband in their clothes.

Frontline Ranger Outposts, Uganda

Recovering the elephant populations of Murchison Falls and Queen Elizabeth National Parks by building two frontline ranger posts in Murchison Falls National Park and Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Elephant Habitat Protection Program, Cambodia

Supporting monitoring and field monitoring surveys, critical equipment and supplies for patrols and legal services to prosecute traffickers and illegal loggers in one of the last remaining intact elephant corridors in Asia.

Supporting anti-poaching efforts in the Game Reserves north of Ruaha National Parks which provide rangers with more mobility to reach key patrol areas.

Our grant enabled this new project to expand across the region, increase the number of reformed poachers and employ them as rangers in order to deter poaching and human-wildlife conflict.

Project Amu, Kenya

Our grant provided Project Amu, 60,000 acres of forests and woodlands on Kenya’s north coast, with support to do aerial monitoring and surveillance and ranger and security patrols to curb poaching and securing habitat and wildlife corridors within Amu Ranch.

Our grant helped increase distribution of media for an ivory reduction consumer campaign across Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou in locations such as airport terminals and train stations.

Regional Parc W, Niger, Burkina Faso and Benin

The “Regional Parc W” landscape is an important biodiversity hot spot and home to an estimated 5,000 elephants out of a total of 7,000 elephants remaining in all of West Africa. Our grant helped support the regular patrolling activities of rangers in Regional Parc W for the purposes of safeguarding elephants.

Preserving the biodiversity of Kenya’s Amboseli-Tsavo wildlife corridor through conservation that directly benefits local Maasai communities.
